MIDDLETOWN, PA — A Pennsylvania Lottery retailer in Allegheny County sold a Powerball ticket worth $213.8 million for the drawing on Monday, August 12.
The winning ticket, purchased at AJ’s Pizza located at 3565 Harts Run Road in Pittsburgh, matched all five white balls (9-22-57-67-68) and the red Powerball (14) to claim the jackpot. The winner can choose between an estimated annuity value of $213.8 million or a lump sum cash option of $106.4 million before taxes. As a reward for selling the winning ticket, AJ’s Pizza will receive a $100,000 bonus.
This marks the sixth Powerball jackpot won in 2024 and the 20th in Pennsylvania since the game began in 1992. The previous Powerball jackpot in Pennsylvania was won in August 2022, with a $206.9 million ticket sold in Westmoreland County. This recent jackpot run generated over $16.6 million in sales, benefiting older Pennsylvanians with $6.6 million in profit.
