ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Police Department has reported several crimes in the city on Tuesday, including a contact shooting and various thefts.
A serious incident occurred at 100 South Villa Avenue, where a man was approached by two masked individuals who opened fire on him. The victim, who reported that both assailants were armed and concealed with ski masks, was hospitalized following the attack.
In another case, a theft from an auto was reported at the intersection of Genesee Street and Taylor Avenue. An unknown thief broke into a 2017 Ford Explorer between 6:30 PM and midnight, stealing two Gerber knives valued at $203.
Residents of the unit block of Rose Court reported a burglary where a wide range of items including a Predator generator, a Schwinn mountain bike, a folding bicycle, a gas chainsaw, a Westinghouse pressure washer, a hedge trimmer, two Stihl weed whackers, and a Dewalt miter saw were stolen from a shed. The total loss was estimated at $2,760.
On Forest Drive, police responded to a theft where $300 was reportedly stolen. Fortunately, the victim managed to recover the stolen funds. The suspect described in the incident is a Black female.
Additionally, a vehicle tag theft occurred in the 1100 block of Madison Street. The complainant reported her front license plate, MD 1GJ3213, stolen from her 2009 blue PT Cruiser.
The Annapolis Police are investigating these incidents and seeking any relevant information from the public.
