MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A Montgomery County Police Department emergency communications specialist has been praised for his crucial role in a life-saving incident earlier this year.
On May 11, Henry Estrada, an employee of the Public Safety Emergency Communications Specialist 3 (PSECS3), responded to a distressing 911 call from Tara Lee, whose husband had suddenly collapsed.
Estrada’s guidance in CPR was instrumental in stabilizing retired MCPD Officer Mark Lee until further medical help could arrive. His empathetic and professional handling of the situation drew commendation from the Lee family, who expressed profound gratitude for his assistance.
Despite the critical nature of the incident, the outcome allowed Mark Lee to continue his recovery and even travel with his wife to witness their son’s NFL practice session. The family attended their son’s first NFL preseason game the following Saturday, marking a significant family moment.
The Montgomery County Police Department highlighted this incident to illustrate the daily impact and dedication of their Emergency Communications Center (ECC) staff.
