NEW YORK, NY—A 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 65-year-old man during the Dominican Day Parade in Midtown. The incident occurred after the younger man jumped on the victim’s car, leading to an altercation. Joshua Canero is facing charges of felony assault, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
The confrontation began around 2:35 p.m. on Sunday when Canero, who had participated in the parade along Sixth Avenue, jumped on the vehicle near 45th Street and Eighth Avenue. This act incited an argument with the vehicle’s owner.
During the heated exchange, Canero is accused of using a knife to attack the elderly driver, resulting in injuries to the man’s face, left ear, and right hand.
The injured man was promptly transported to Mount Sinai West, where he was reported to be in stable condition following the attack.
