NEW YORK, NY—Yohenry Brito, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national, was arrested again for multiple thefts at Sephora stores in Manhattan. This recent arrest adds to Brito’s criminal history, which includes a notorious incident where he led an attack on NYPD officers in Times Square.
Late Tuesday, Brito was taken into custody for two thefts. In July, he reportedly severed security wires to steal fragrances, and on August 6, he and an unidentified accomplice allegedly stole merchandise valued at $1,358 from another Sephora store.
Brito has faced arrest and subsequent release on at least three other theft charges before and after his involvement in the Times Square incident. Following his latest arrest, he was indicted on new theft charges on Monday.
Currently, Brito is being held on a $25,000 cash bond for the July felony theft. Additionally, his bond for the Times Square police assault has been increased to $50,000 due to these recent charges.
