SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY—Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney has announced the indictment of Daniel Tomasky, 42, of Shirley, on multiple charges including first-degree assault following an incident at Adventureland Amusement Park in Farmingdale.
The incident, which occurred on July 7 at around 4:45 PM, involved a dispute between members of Tomasky’s family and the victim’s family.
Tomasky is accused of pulling a knife from his waistband, charging at the victim, who was not initially involved in the altercation, and stabbing him in view of numerous children.
The victim was subsequently hospitalized at Nassau University Medical Center and underwent surgery for his injuries.
Following the attack, Tomasky allegedly disposed of the knife in a sewer drain near his vehicle but was arrested at the scene. The knife was later recovered by law enforcement. On August 7,
Tomasky was arraigned before Supreme Court Justice Anthony J. Senft, Jr., facing charges including Assault in the First Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Justice Senft set bail at $50,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or $500,000 partially secured bond. Tomasky is represented by Michael Brown, Esq., and is due back in court on September 3. The case is being prosecuted with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Department’s First Squad.
