GEORGETOWN, DE — Delaware State Police have reported the arrest of Lyndon King following a home invasion and robbery that occurred on the afternoon of August 8, 2024, in Georgetown. King, a 36-year-old escapee from the Sussex Community Corrections Center, is now in custody in Maryland pending extradition to Delaware.
The incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m. when King allegedly forced his way into a residence on Zoar Road, confronting a 69-year-old woman upon her return home. He is accused of threatening the victim, physically assaulting her, and disabling the house phone to prevent any calls for help.
King then stole the victim’s cell phone and her Chevrolet Trax, which he used to flee the scene.
Authorities were able to track the stolen vehicle to Salisbury, Maryland, where local law enforcement agencies, including the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police Department, apprehended King near a Staples store on North Salisbury Boulevard.
King faces several charges upon his return to Delaware, including Robbery 1st Degree, Home Invasion Burglary 1st Degree, Terroristic Threatening where the victim is over 62 years old, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications, Offensive Touching, and Criminal Mischief.
