IUKA, MS—Brittany A. Norris, 36, from Counce, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to three counts of Aggravated DUI in Tishomingo County Circuit Court today. The plea stems from a tragic incident on September 20, 2021, where Norris, while impaired by substances, drove her vehicle head-on into another, resulting in catastrophic outcomes.
The collision, which occurred on Mississippi Highway 365, led to the death of a 13-year-old boy and caused permanent injuries to both his mother and sister.
Circuit Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. accepted the plea deal from the district attorney’s office, sentencing Norris to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
This case was investigated by the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department along with Anthony Franks and Johnathon Ragan of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Assistant District Attorneys Clay Cummings, Megan French, and Kyle Robbins represented the State of Mississippi in prosecuting the case.
