ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, NJ—In a recent pizza review, Dave Portnoy of One Bite Pizza evaluated the Detroit-style pizza offered by Talula at Alternate Ending Beer Company.
Portnoy expressed confusion about the branding on the pizza box, noting the kitchen is operated by Talula, which is different from the brewery’s name.
Portnoy described the pizza as having a “cool vibe” and praised the establishment for its extensive beer selection. However, he criticized the pizza for its weight, comparing it to an offensive lineman who looks heavy and feels heavy, contrary to his preference for a lighter feel.
He labeled the pizza as more suitable for winter, given its density and richness.
Ultimately, Portnoy rated the pizza a 7.2 out of 10, indicating a good taste but hampered by its heaviness.
He once again concluded the review unsure of his exact location, but confirmed it was in Aberdeen, New Jersey, where he also sampled some of the brewery’s other offerings, including Royal rug pills and an altered ending IPA.
