CLAYMONT, DE – Delaware State Police are actively investigating a bank robbery that took place at the M&T Bank located on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont. The incident occurred yesterday morning, August 5, 2024, at approximately 10:45 AM.
According to preliminary reports, an unidentified white male suspect entered the bank and handed a demand note to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Despite immediate efforts to locate him, troopers were unable to find the suspect in the surrounding area.
The suspect is described as being between 6’2” and 6’4” tall, with a thin build, and was seen wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the robbery. Currently, no surveillance images or video of the incident have been released to the public.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is leading the investigation. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the robbery to contact Detective D. Armstrong at (302) 365-8440.
