BEL AIR, MD – A retired couple from Bel Air, Maryland, is celebrating their largest lottery win yet—a $50,000 prize from a $10 Money Rush scratch-off ticket. The enthusiastic lottery players, who have engaged in numerous Maryland Lottery games over the years, described this win as their first major prize.
The wife, who purchased the ticket, and her husband, who signed it, have been longtime participants in the Lottery, enjoying not only scratch-offs but also second-chance promotions through My Lottery Rewards. The couple, both former employees at Aberdeen Proving Ground, have also found success in second-chance drawings for Baltimore Ravens prizes.
With three sons and a granddaughter, the couple plans to share their good fortune with their family. They also intend to proceed with buying a pickup truck and are likely to celebrate their win with a dinner, possibly featuring Maryland’s famous crab cakes.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Sheetz store on Pulaski Highway in Joppa. Since the Money Rush game launched on July 22, it still offers a top prize of $100,000 and numerous other prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000. Currently, there are nine unclaimed $50,000 prizes and one $100,000 top prize still available in the game. The couple plans to continue their lottery adventures, hopeful for even bigger wins in the future.
