Now, she’s trying to escape the flood of cringeworthy videos being dug up on social media. This time, it’s a 2017 video where she says Americans must ‘stay woke’.
At the 2017 Recode Code Conference, Kamala Harris emphasized the importance of remaining “woke” in today’s society. The video clip, which started gaining traction on Monday, features Harris passionately advocating for heightened awareness and engagement.
“We have to stay woke. Like, everybody needs to be woke,” Harris declared, followed by a loud cackle. She further elaborated, “You can talk about if you’re the wokest or woker. But just stay more woke than less woke.”
Laurene Jobs, positioned to Harris’s right, appeared puzzled by the remarks. The incident sparked debate about the concept of “wokeness” and its place in American discourse, reflecting broader ideological divides.
