Columbia, MD — Howard County police have released images of the suspected shooter involved in a fatal incident at The Mall in Columbia on Saturday, July 27. The release follows a detailed review of hundreds of hours of surveillance footage.
The suspect, whose face was initially obscured by a dark mask and hooded sweatshirt, was captured on video at a table in the mall’s food court. The footage shows the suspect getting up and following the victim, Angelo Little, as he walked towards the bathroom. After waiting for Little to exit, the shooter fired a single fatal shot from behind and fled through a back door.
Little was pronounced dead at the scene. A gun was found on his person. Police have noted that Little was previously the victim of a shooting in April 2023, though no arrests were made in that case and it remains unclear if the two incidents are related.
The suspect is described as a young Black male, likely in his teens or twenties, of small stature, wearing all dark clothing with a hooded sweatshirt, and partially covering his face with a dark mask.
Police are urging residents near the mall to check their doorbell camera footage from July 27 around 6:10 p.m. for any helpful images. A reward of up to $7,500 is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
