BALTIMORE, MD — A routine traffic patrol turned into a significant arrest in Baltimore’s Western District on the evening of August 1. At approximately 10:14 p.m., members of the Western District Action Team observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation in the 600 block of Cumberland Street.
When detectives attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver initially tried to elude them. The pursuit ended with the driver’s apprehension, and a subsequent search led to the recovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun along with ammunition.
The 35-year-old male driver was issued traffic citations and has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility for processing. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address gun-related crimes in the community.
