DENVER, CO—A 44-year-old college professor, Nicholas Myklebust, has been arrested and is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife.
Myklebust, an English professor at Regis University, was taken into custody on Monday following a tragic incident at his home.
Authorities responded to a 911 call early Monday morning made by Myklebust, who reported finding his wife bleeding and their 2-month-old daughter unresponsive.
The call was made at 6:52 a.m. from the family’s residence on North Syracuse Street in Denver. Upon arrival, first responders found Myklebust’s wife with multiple blunt-force injuries. She was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
In addition to the wife’s death, the police found the infant daughter deceased at the scene, with no visible injuries reported.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case and Myklebust’s relationship with the victims, officials have withheld the names of the deceased until further notice. The investigation into this distressing event continues as the community seeks answers.
