WASHINGTON, D.C. — Four robbery suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning after walking past the scene of their crime while officers were still investigating.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers were flagged down by a man who reported being robbed in the 1100 block of U Street, Northwest. The victim stated that a group had assaulted him and forcefully taken his belongings. He provided officers with a description of the four suspects.
As officers were investigating the incident, the four suspects walked past the scene. Officers stopped them and discovered the victim’s stolen property in their possession.
The suspects, identified as a 14-year-old male from Northeast D.C., a 15-year-old male from Southeast D.C., 33-year-old Rynell Kaven Epps of Northwest D.C., and 21-year-old Ira Shaw-Bates of Southeast D.C., were arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
