SOMERVILLE, NJ—Authorities in Somerset County have announced the arrests of six individuals linked to a series of residential and motor vehicle burglaries across Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, and Green Brook Township. Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, along with local law enforcement chiefs, revealed the details of the crimes and the ongoing investigations.
The series of burglaries commenced on Thursday, October 5, 2023, with suspects breaking into a Bernards Township home through a rear window around 4:37 AM, and stealing a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLE AMG. Detectives noted that a 2020 Kia Sol, reported stolen from Newark, was abandoned at the crime scene.
Subsequent burglaries included a break-in at a residence on Old Fort Road in Bernardsville on Saturday, October 7, where keys and two BMWs were stolen around 4:00 AM. Another incident on Sunday, November 26, in Bernardsville involved the theft of two key fobs and vehicles, including a 2024 BMW X6, after the suspects forcefully entered a home at 3:55 AM.
Further, on Friday, December 1, a burglary occurred in Green Brook where suspects fled in a stolen BMW X4 as police arrived at the scene around 4:59 AM. The latest in this series was on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, when suspects stole multiple high-end vehicles, including a 2023 Audi RSQ8, from a residence on Johnson Circle in Bernards Township at approximately 2:48 AM.
The arrested individuals include Rasudi Creighton, Furquan Ahmad, Jashamir Hardiman, Nasir Davis, and a minor, all from Newark. Another suspect, Damien Coleman, also from Newark, is currently at large. The investigations are ongoing, led by local police departments in collaboration with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
