WASHINGTON, D.C. — A tense barricade situation in Southeast Washington was peacefully resolved Sunday afternoon, according to D.C. police. The incident began around 4 p.m. on the 3200 block of 28th St., following an earlier shooting in the same area.
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and an Emergency Response Team were dispatched to handle the barricade after officers found a man shot at approximately 2:45 p.m. The victim was discovered unconscious and not breathing.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the shooting, MPD has issued a lookout for a man seen wearing a dark burgundy shirt paired with black shorts.
By 7:50 p.m., police announced that the barricade situation had concluded without any further incidents. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still active.
