COLUMBIA, MD—Howard County police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Wednesday night in Columbia, which resulted in a non-life-threatening injury to an 18-year-old male. The incident took place around 10:25 PM on the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road.
Upon arrival at the scene following reports of gunshots, police discovered the victim with a single gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment and has since been released.
Details surrounding the motive of the shooting remain unclear as the investigation continues. Howard County police have not released any further information regarding suspects or potential leads at this time.
