NEW YORK, NY – A violent assault that occurred last month in the Bronx has tragically escalated to a homicide. On Sunday, June 23, just before 10:54 PM, NYPD officers responded to a distress call at 526B Willis Avenue in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, they found a 54-year-old man suffering from a serious facial laceration.
The victim was immediately transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition. However, on Wednesday, July 17, the victim died due to complications from his injuries.
Following a thorough examination, the Medical Examiner has classified the incident as a homicide.
The identity of the deceased has not been released as authorities are in the process of notifying his family. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and details will be updated as more information becomes available.
