Greensburg, PA – A Sewickley Township woman has been sentenced to serve 6 to 15 years in prison for her role in a fatal accident. Ahna Malik, 44, was found guilty on all 17 counts in May 2024 in connection with the accident that claimed the life of a Madison woman. Malik was sentenced on July 23 by Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio.
The accident occurred in March 2022 when Malik attempted to pass several vehicles on Arona Road in Hempfield Township. She drove into oncoming traffic and struck another car, resulting in the death of the driver. Toxicology tests revealed that Malik had drugs, including crystal meth and marijuana, in her system at the time of the accident. Additionally, troopers found narcotics in Malik’s car on the day of the incident, leading to several drug-related charges.
Malik’s bond was revoked following her guilty verdict in May. The sentencing underscores the serious consequences of driving under the influence and the commitment of law enforcement to prosecute such cases.
