Port Jervis, NY – Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that Marcus Henderson, 27, of Port Jervis, was sentenced on Monday to four years in prison for possessing cocaine with the intent to sell. The sentence will be followed by two years of post-release supervision.
Henderson had previously pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. The court directed that this sentence run consecutively to a one-to-three-year prison sentence for a conviction of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
An investigation into narcotics sales in and around Port Jervis led to the execution of a judicially-authorized search warrant at a residence in the city on February 29, 2024. During the search, officers from the City of Port Jervis Police Department recovered cocaine from Henderson and found scales, packaging materials, and US currency at the residence. Henderson admitted to possessing the cocaine with the intent to sell during the plea proceedings.
District Attorney Hoovler thanked the City of Port Jervis Police Department for their investigation and the arrest of Henderson.
