Baltimore County, MD – A local man nearly missed out on a $32,400 lottery prize after hiding his winning ticket too effectively.
The Racetrax player had just witnessed his chosen horses cross the finish line on May 15, securing his biggest win ever. With an overseas trip scheduled for the next day, he opted to hide the ticket in a secure place at home and planned to claim his winnings upon return. However, the eventful trip caused him to forget the ticket’s location. “We were gone so long that I almost forgot about the ticket,” he shared. His wife, initially unaware of the ticket’s value, was shocked when he revealed it was worth over $32,000.
After nearly an hour of searching, and his wife almost giving up, the ticket was found among his work papers. “It seemed like the perfect spot,” he admitted. The winner, a shipping specialist, credited his success to horses 1, 3, 6, and 7, which finished in the exact order he had bet on a $20 Superfecta wager.
Timonium Shell, where the ticket was purchased, also benefited, receiving a $324 bonus from the lottery for selling a ticket worth more than $10,000. The winner plans to share his prize with his family, celebrating a fortunate end to a stressful search.
