Wilmington, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested Itaijiyah Clark of Wilmington in connection with multiple robbery and theft-related offenses. The arrest follows an investigation into a shoplifting turned robbery that occurred on June 17, 2024, at a Sunglass Hut kiosk within the Macy’s at Concord Mall.
At approximately 5:40 PM on June 17, troopers responded to the incident at the Macy’s located at 580 Concord Mall. The investigation revealed that five suspects approached the Sunglass Hut kiosk, grabbing several pairs of eyeglasses. When confronted by an employee as they fled towards the exit, one of the female suspects dropped a bag containing some of the stolen items and pepper sprayed the employee. The suspects then escaped in a silver sedan with several pairs of eyeglasses.
Through investigative efforts, troopers identified one of the suspects as Itaijiyah Clark. Clark was already wanted for multiple felony theft-related charges from three previous shoplifting incidents between April 12, 2024, and May 4, 2024. Two of these incidents also occurred at the Concord Mall Sunglass Hut kiosk within Macy’s, while the third occurred at DTLR located at 611 Governors Place in Bear.
On July 22, 2024, Clark was apprehended at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas without incident. She was transported to Troop 1, where she was charged with the following crimes:
- Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
- Organized Retail Theft over $1,500 (Felony)
- Organized Retail Theft with 2 or more Previous Convictions (Felony) – 2 counts
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony) – 3 counts
- Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
- Shoplifting Under $1,500 – 2 counts
- Conspiracy 3rd Degree
Clark was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $32,300 cash bond. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information related to the other suspects involved.
