Washington, D.C. – In a concerted effort to clamp down on a string of property crimes, D.C. Metro Police are reaching out to the community for help in tracking down a suspect believed to be responsible for a recent spree of burglaries in the Northwest district.
The suspect is accused of breaking into three separate businesses, each incident marked by forced entry and theft. The details of the offenses are as follows:
- Early in the morning on Monday, July 1, at approximately 1:44 a.m., the suspect burglarized a location in the 2300 block of 18th Street, Northwest.
- On Sunday, July 21, at around 4:28 a.m., another establishment was targeted in the 2800 block of 18th Street, Northwest.
- Later that same day, at approximately 5:10 a.m., a third burglary took place in the 1800 block of Columbia Road, Northwest.
Authorities have released surveillance footage of the suspect and are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or details of the incidents to contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Tips can also be sent anonymously via text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Community members are advised not to approach the suspect directly.
