TOMS RIVER, NJ—Jesus Vargas-DelValle, an illegal migrant living in Ocean County, has been incarcerated without the possibility of bail following his arrest over serious domestic violence allegations. Vargas-DelValle was booked into the county jail on Saturday.
The charges against Vargas-DelValle include aggravated assault specifically described as strangulation of a domestic violence victim, a crime classified under New Jersey law as a second-degree offense. Additionally, he faces a fourth-degree charge of attempting to knowingly cause bodily injury to another person.
Vargas-DelValle, who is described as a Hispanic male with short black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds, according to jail records was arrested and his booking was processed this weekend.
Adding to his legal troubles, an immigration detainer has been placed on Vargas-DelValle, issued by U.S. Immigration authorities.
The details of the incident have not been made public. DelValle lives in Toms River.
