VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A confrontation in Virginia Beach ended tragically when police responded to a stabbing at a local residence on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in the 4100 block of White Beam Court at approximately 7:02 PM.
Officers encountered 22-year-old Marques Hasbrouck of Virginia Beach, who was armed with a crowbar and a metal rod. Despite officers’ commands, Hasbrouck did not surrender his weapons. After a Taser failed to stop him, he charged the officers, prompting them to use lethal force.
Hasbrouck died from his injuries at the scene. Inside the residence, officers discovered three victims. Victoria Lane Hasbrouck, aged 58, was found deceased. Two other critically injured victims were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The involved officers are unharmed and have been placed on administrative leave, a routine procedure in such incidents.
