HOPEWELL, VA – A tragic incident early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of two men in a shooting on North Radford Drive. Hopewell Police are currently investigating the case, which unfolded around 3:30 AM just off West Broadway.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered two gunshot victims. Damonye Lamont Taylor, 23, from Hopewell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Dequante Travell Roney, 30, from Prince George County, was transported to TriCities Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Although the investigation is ongoing, initial police reports indicated that there was no ongoing threat to public safety. The motive behind the shooting has yet to be disclosed by authorities
