BOSTON, MA—Two juvenile females, ages 14 and 15, were arrested on drug trafficking charges by officers assigned to District D-14 (Allston/Brighton). The incident occurred around 4:56 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, leading to a series of charges against both individuals.
During a patrol in the area of Malvern Street near Commonwealth Avenue, an officer noticed a vehicle with reclined front seats. As the officer passed, the juveniles adjusted their seats and began to drive toward Ashford Street. Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, it was revealed that the car was stolen, prompting the officer to initiate a traffic stop with backup near Brighton Avenue and Harvard Avenue.
The juveniles attempted to flee upon stopping; the driver struggled with officers and caused damage to a police cruiser by kicking it. She also resisted arrest and assaulted an officer before being subdued. The passenger fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief chase on Gardner Street.
A search of the vehicle uncovered twenty-one plastic bags of cocaine, weighing approximately 49 grams, and ten loose pills of oxycodone. The 14-year-old was charged with trafficking of Class B cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Class B, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, vandalizing property, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The 15-year-old faces charges of trafficking of Class B cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Class B, and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
Both juveniles are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court as the legal process unfolds.
