LAKEWOOD, NJ— A young child died after being left in a hot vehicle for an externded period of time last week in Lakewood Township. That man was later released after a pre-trial hearing under New Jersey’s Bail Reform Act.
Avraham Chaitovsky, of Jackson, was released from jail after a detention hearing concerning an incident where he left his 2-month-old daughter to die in a hot car. The event occurred on Monday, and Chaitovsky was freed the following day.
According to police reports, Chaitovsky left the infant unattended in the vehicle while he visited a synagogue. He is currently facing charges of child endangerment, with the possibility of additional charges being filed.
His court date has been scheduled for August 27.
