PHILADELPHIA, PA — Two separate shooting incidents in Philadelphia have left a young infant and a man injured, both now in stable condition.
In the 15th District, an shooting occurred at approximately 5:51 PM on the highway near 40xx Meridian St. A 7-month-old male infant sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. The infant was initially transported to Nazareth Hospital by private vehicle and subsequently moved to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital by police.
The investigation scene is being held at 40xx Meridian Street, with a related blood scene at 77xx Frankford Avenue. Currently, no arrests have been made as the Shooting Investigation Group leads the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, in the 25th District, another shooting took place at about 5:15 PM on the highway near 47xx N. 3rd St. A 22-year-old male was shot once in the lower right thigh and was taken to Einstein Hospital by private vehicle. He too is reported to be in stable condition. The scene is still active, with no arrests made or weapons recovered as of yet.
Police are actively investigating both shootings and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
