BRONX, NY — Clement Boateng, a 36-year-old resident of the Bronx, has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing incident. The attack occurred on Tuesday, at approximately 4:28 PM, in front of 1809 Phelan Place, in the Bronx.
Responding to a 911 call, police found 29-year-old Ronald Gomez-Mesa with a stab wound to the chest. EMS quickly transported Gomez-Mesa to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Boateng faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The incident has shocked the local community, and the police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the stabbing. Boateng, residing at 1820 Phelan Place, is currently held pending trial as the case progresses.
