PRINCE FREDERICK, MD – The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 17-year-old Andre Xavier Howe from Huntingtown, marking a significant development in the investigation of a recent shooting in Prince Frederick. The arrest was announced today following the incident that occurred on July 14.
Responding to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of Mint Court, deputies discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were quickly transported to area trauma centers for urgent care. Detectives from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office promptly initiated an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of Howe earlier today.
Sheriff Ricky Cox emphasized the commitment to community safety, stating, “We are committed to thoroughly investigating any acts of violence in our community and bringing those responsible to justice. The arrest of Andre Howe is a testament to our detectives’ hard work and dedication.”
Howe, who is being charged as an adult, faces a slew of charges including two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony/violent crime, possession of a firearm under the age of 21, and possession of a stolen firearm. He is currently held at the Calvert County Detention Center, and the investigation continues.
