MOUNT RAINIER, MD — A man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of 51-year-old Julio Lopez Cosme of Arlington, VA, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Mount Rainier. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Davon Henderson from Mount Rainier, is facing first-degree murder among other related charges.
The incident was reported on July 14th at around 12:40 am. Responding officers from the Mount Rainier Police Department arrived at the 3700 block of 33rd Street to find Cosme outside with a fatal stab wound and pronounced him dead at the scene. Henderson was also found on the scene and was immediately taken into custody.
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit, which took over the investigation, discovered that the stabbing occurred during an argument between the victim and the suspect, who were known to each other. Henderson is currently held without bond by the Department of Corrections.
