FREEHOLD, NJ — The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, in partnership with the Monmouth County Park System and the Monmouth County 4-H Association, is set to present the 49th annual Monmouth County Fair. The event will take place from Wednesday, July 24, through Sunday, July 28, at the East Freehold Showgrounds, located at 1500 Kozloski Rd.
Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “The fair is a fun-filled summer event that residents and visitors look forward to attending each year. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Fair.” The fair aims to blend traditional agricultural elements with modern entertainment, providing a comprehensive experience for all ages.
Commissioner Deputy Director Ross F. Licitra, liaison to the Park System, highlighted the fair’s role in showcasing Monmouth County’s park system and its agricultural roots. The event will feature a Home and Garden competition, a petting farm, and various 4-H animal shows and exhibits.
Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, invited attendees to explore the 4-H tents for educational demonstrations and entertainment. “You can learn about 4-H youth clubs and see animals that have been raised by 4-H members in the Herpetology, Small Animal, and Livestock tents,” Anderson said.
Additionally, the Monmouth County Government tent will serve as a hub for information on various county services, with representatives from departments like Tourism, Human Resources, Health and Human Services, Mosquito Control, Transportation, Workforce Development, the Library System, and Brookdale Community College on hand to provide demonstrations and answer questions.
The fair will be open from 4-11 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday; and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $10 per adult, with free entry for children 12 and under, veterans, and active military with ID. Special admission discounts include free entry for seniors 65 and older and students with ID on Sunday, and half-price admission during the first two hours of each day.
This year’s Monmouth County Fair promises to be an event filled with fun, education, and community engagement, continuing its tradition as a summer highlight for the county.
