Delmar, DE — The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on the night of July 12, leaving one man dead.
At approximately 9:30 PM, a 1996 Subaru Outback was traveling southbound on Providence Church Road, approaching the intersection of Delmar Road. Simultaneously, a 2017 Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on Delmar Road, approaching the same intersection. The Subaru failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the westbound lane of Delmar Road, resulting in a collision with the Nissan.
The 48-year-old driver of the Subaru, a Salisbury, Maryland resident, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The 40-year-old driver of the Nissan, a woman from Laurel, Delaware, and her three child passengers sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.
