CHICAGO, IL – The ARCO gas station in West Rogers Park is celebrating after selling a $1 million Lotto ticket, coming just days after another customer won $10,000 on a scratch-off ticket. The store, located at 2758 W. Peterson Ave., is becoming known for its lucky streak.
Jackpaul Singh, the owner of the ARCO station, expressed his astonishment at the back-to-back wins. “It’s either good karma or luck, but either way, we’re thrilled to see our customers win big,” Singh said. The $1 million prize was clinched by a Lotto Million 1 ticket matching the numbers 1, 8, 12, 16, 28, and 49 in the July 6 drawing.
Singh, who grew up in the neighborhood and purchased the gas station a few years ago, is eager to meet the newest millionaire among his customers. “I’m curious to know who it is. I hope they come in to celebrate with us,” he added.
This year, the Illinois Lottery has already created nine millionaires among its Lotto players, with over 37,000 winning tickets sold for the July 6 drawing alone. Singh’s store continues to be a beacon for hopefuls in a community he describes as diverse, family-oriented, and supportive.
