Baltimore, MD – Following the July 11 shooting in the Eastern District, Baltimore police have apprehended 25-year-old John Edward Brown, identified as a repeat violent offender. The incident involved Brown allegedly shooting his estranged 31-year-old wife multiple times at their residence, leaving her critically injured.
John Brown was taken into custody when he returned to the scene. He has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges of attempted first and second-degree murder, along with multiple handgun violations.
The shooting investigation initially began when Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1900 block of East Federal Street around 8:25 a.m. on July 11. Upon arrival, they found the victim with gunshot wounds. She was quickly transported to a local hospital by medics for urgent treatment.
