UTICA, NY—A significant police operation led to the arrest of a shooting suspect and another individual with outstanding warrants following a dramatic foot chase in Utica. The incident unfolded on July 10th, 2024, when Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) unit investigators spotted the individuals exiting a vehicle at the intersection of Oneida St and Pleasant St.
Upon noticing law enforcement, the suspects, along with four other individuals from the same vehicle, fled on foot. With the aid of additional Utica Police Officers, a pursuit was initiated, resulting in the apprehension of four individuals a short distance from the scene. The primary shooting suspect and the wanted individual continued northbound on Oneida St but were ultimately taken into custody after running into a residence on the 1500 block.
Further investigations revealed that the vehicle from which the suspects had fled had been stolen on June 27th from Clinton Pl in Utica.
